Donate & get it matched
Every gift goes through our fiscal sponsor, so it's fully tax-deductible — and most large employers in this region will match it, often dollar for dollar. Five minutes in your company's giving portal can double what your gift is worth.
The three things you'll need
Whatever portal your employer uses, it'll ask for some version of these. Copy them exactly.

Employers whose programs likely won't cover us
Worth knowing before you spend time in a portal. Several large employers restrict matching to educational institutions only, and some have no employee matching program at all. If you work at one of these, a direct gift through our sponsor still helps — and your spouse's employer may match.
Deloitteeducation only
Non-educational 501(c)(3)s are NOT eligible.
EY (Ernst & Young)education only
Non-educational 501(c)(3)s are NOT eligible.
KPMGeducation only
Non-educational 501(c)(3)s are NOT eligible under the main program.
PACCAReducation only
Education-restricted. A general 501(c)(3) likely does NOT qualify unless it is an accredited educational institution.
University of Washingtonno program
No match available. Route UW employees to UWCFD payroll giving and to a spouse's employer match if applicable.
Inteleducation only
Match is 50% of donations up to $10,000 donated (max $5,000 company contribution). Education-focused eligibility.
Wells Fargoeducation only
Education-weighted eligibility.
Kaiser Permanente Washingtoneducation only
Figures come from the Northern California campaign; WA terms may differ. Verify before publishing.
Blue Originno program
Club for the Future makes direct STEM grants; no documented employee match. Kent WA HQ - worth contacting directly for STEM/robotics work.
Costco Wholesaleno program
Rank-and-file Costco employees generally do NOT have a standard 1:1 match. Do not promise a match.
Global Credit Union (formerly Alaska USA)no program
No employee matching gift program documented publicly; foundation makes direct community grants instead.
Providenceno program
No employee matching gift program for external charities documented.
Qualtricsno program
No standard matching gift program found on public sources.
SpaceX (Redmond)no program
No documented employee matching gift program.
Virginia Mason Franciscan Healthno program
No employee matching gift program documented publicly (part of CommonSpirit Health).

In support of Launchpad RoboticsCard gifts lose 2.9% plus 30¢ to the payment processor. A check delivers the full amount. If you'd rather give by card and still have us receive a round number, gross the gift up — a $1,000 gift should be entered as $1,030.18.
Yellowstone Robotics17714 NE 105th Street, Redmond, WA 98052-2888Write “In support of Launchpad Robotics” on the memo line so it reaches our club.

Not sure who to ask?
This pipeline is built for support from the wider community. Our sponsor's own guidance on where that support usually comes from:
- Coworkers — especially at employers with matching programs, where one gift can double
- Local professionals: dentists, orthodontists, doctors, lawyers
- Local businesses looking for community sponsorship
- Extended family — grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins
- Neighbors and community members who want to back hands-on STEM for kids
If you're a parent on one of our teams, the highest-leverage thing you can do isn't writing a check — it's asking one coworker whose employer matches, and logging your volunteer hours. Both route through this page.
Rules we have to follow
These come from IRS public charity rules and our sponsor's policy. They protect the nonprofit status that makes your gift deductible in the first place.
- Never name an individual child. Do not reference any individual child's name on a contribution or company form. Our sponsor will refuse and return any gift directed to the benefit of a specific individual, as IRS rules for public charities require.
- Not for dues, fees, or a family's own equipment. Our sponsor cannot handle participation dues or fees, payments parents make to buy robotics equipment for their own kids, or entry fees parents pay for their own kids. Those are personal expenses, not deductible gifts, and they have to stay outside this pipeline.
- A parent shouldn't fund their own child's participation here. Support from the general public is exactly what this pipeline is for — community members, local professionals, businesses, and coworkers. A parent covering their own child's costs is not making a charitable gift.
- Gifts must be unrestricted. Our sponsor handles only unrestricted, properly tax-deductible donations supporting youth robotics education. Funds cannot be earmarked for a particular student, family, or private benefit.
- No goods or services in return. If a donor receives something of equal value in return, that portion isn't a deductible gift and can't be routed through our sponsor. Raffles, merchandise sales, and ticketed items fall outside this pipeline.
Short version: give to the organization, not to a kid. We genuinely cannot accept gifts earmarked for an individual student, and a gift tagged that way can create real problems for our sponsor.
Our sponsor does not make funding decisions to our club based on what parents or families contributed, how much a family fundraised, or how much time they put in. Yellowstone Robotics does not discriminate on the grounds of race, color, gender, or national origin. Every student on our teams has the same access to what the club has, regardless of whether their family donated, fundraised, or volunteered.
